BNB Chain's Layer2 Network opBNB Live on Mainnet

BNB Chain announced that its Layer2 network opBNB is now live on the mainnet. opBNB is an EVM-compatible chain based on OP Stack, aiming to reduce gas fees and make blockchain technology more accessible. According to the team, the transaction cost on opBNB is reduced to as low as $0.005 per transfer transaction.

opBNB launched its testnet in June and opened its mainnet to infrastructure providers last month. According to data provided by the BNB Chain team, the testnet had over 35 million on-chain transactions processed and over 150 Dapps deployed.

The team said that the next focus is to fortify the network's resilience and decentralization, including work on account abstraction, data availability with BNB Greenfield, interoperability with BNB Greenfield, and more.
