Cardano Node Upgrade to boost Performance, DeFi TVL has Tripled Year-to-Date

Cardano recently released Node 8.1.1, which is expected to enhance the performance of Cardano’s network, especially for stake pool operators (SPO). The upgrade, released to Cardano’s mainnet on June 19, offers significant improvements in epoch boundary performance and corrects previous concerns with P2P/DNS.

The Cardano ecosystem’s interest is growing, with a significant increase in the network’s total value locked (TVL). Cardano’s DeFi TVL has increased almost 3x from $50M in the begining of the year to $147M, according to data from defillama.

It is worth noting that this increase comes despite the U.S. SEC potentially classifying Cardano as a security in their June 5 lawsuit against Binance. Several exchanges have also delisted ADA in recent days following regulatory uncertainty.
