Crypto Sleuth ZachXBT Receives Over $1 Million in Donations, CZ and Justin Sun both Contribute

ZachXBT, a prominent blockchain investigator, has received over $1 million in donations from the crypto community in response to a defamation lawsuit filed against him. The donations come after ZachXBT revealed the lawsuit brought by Jeffrey Huang (also known as Machi Big Brother), a Taiwanese-American musician and tech entrepreneur. Huang is suing ZachXBT over an article accusing him of embezzling millions of dollars worth of Ethereum from a defunct crypto treasury management platform. ZachXBT's claims were backed by on-chain data.

In an effort to fund his legal defense, ZachXBT posted a digital wallet address on Twitter, describing the lawsuit as a "David and Goliath story." The post quickly gained attention and support from high-profile figures in the crypto industry, including Changpeng Zhao (CZ), the CEO of Binance, and Justin Sun, the founder of Tron and an advisor to Huobi.

Within a day, donations poured into ZachXBT's wallet, surpassing the 650,000 in stablecoin USDC, nearly $274,000 in Tether, as well as tokens such as $ETH and $MATIC.

Support for ZachXBT came from users across various crypto exchanges, including Binance, Bitfinex, Coinbase, and Kraken. Thousands of donations, ranging from small amounts to tens of thousands of dollars, were made by members of the crypto community.
