FTX Strikes Deal With Yield Guild Games to Sponsor Axie Infinity Players

TokenInsight news, on August 5, digital asset exchange FTX signed a sponsorship agreement with decentralized gaming community organization Yield Guild Game (YGG) to sponsor 137 players from developing countries. The sponsorship program will give FTX lifetime naming rights on the YGG platform. The sponsorship funds will be used to cover the cost of breeding Axie in Axie Infinity, a blockchain-based fantasy creature raising & battle game. Axie is the required, revenue-generating NFT battle pets during the game. YGG describes itself as a Play-to-Earn player union for players who want to earn revenue from blockchain games. 81 of the players sponsored by FTX are from Philippines, 25 from Indonesia, 10 from India, 15 from Latin America, and 6 from Brazil. FTX has signed a number of sponsorship agreements this year with live sports and virtual games, including Major League Baseball, the Miami Heat, and the League of Legends Championship Series.
