LayerZero Announced v2 Upgrade, Improving Security and Throughput

Cross-chain messaging protocol LayerZero launched v2 upgrade across more than 40 blockchains. The new version focuses on streaming third-party development, bolstering security, and improving throughput.

Key features of v2 include the introduction of "unified semantics", allowing dApps developers to build applications that work the same across every blockchain LayerZero has an endpoint on. Developers can also configure a customized security stack and select from multiple third-party Decentralized Verifier Networks (DVNs) to bolster decentralization.

LayerZero v2 will also unlock the maximum throughput of destination chains by verifying messages sequentially while permitting out-of-order execution through lazy nonce-order enformance.
