Matter Labs Co-Founder Proposes Ethereum Court System

Matter Labs co-founder and CEO, Alex Gluchowski, has introduced a novel concept for an Ethereum court system that closely resembles the hierarchical court systems found in the physical world. Matter Labs is the entity behind Ethereum Layer 2 zkSync.

In a tweet titled "L1 fork as the Court of Final Appeal" posted on September 2nd, Gluchowski introduced the idea of establishing an "Ethereum Supreme Court," mirroring the function of the United States Supreme Court. This proposed Ethereum Supreme Court would serve as the ultimate authority for parties involved in disputes related to smart contracts and solve the smart contract implementation risks.

According to Gluchowski's concept, conflicts and emergency updates would be handled through a hierarchical network of on-chain courts. Ultimately, the Ethereum blockchain's layer-1 soft fork would serve as the ultimate "Court of Final Appeal" for resolving disputes.
