Mobile Game Development Studio Mayhem Studios Closes $20 Million Series A Funding Round Led by Sequoia Capital

Mayhem Studios, a studio of Indian game development company Mobile Premier League (MPL), has closed a $20 million Series A round led by Sequoia Capital with participation from Steadview Capital, Truecaller, and others. 

Bing Gordon, Chief Product Officer at US venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins, participated in the round in a personal capacity. Mayhem Studios, a subsidiary of MPL, was formed to develop AAA mobile games. The studio launched its first battle royale game, Underworld Gang Wars, shortly after its launch in May 2022. 

MPL launched the NFT Marketplace Good Game Exchange (GGX) last month and is also venturing into the Web3 gaming space as part of the group's growth plans.
