OP Mainnet Completes the Bedrock Upgrade

Optimism Mainnet's migration to Bedrock has concluded and the Bedrock sequencer has started up. The latest release for the op-node is now available. Key external OP Mainnet infrastructure is starting to come back online and deposits/withdrawals have been re-enabled.

This upgrade is a hard fork, triggered by a timestamp rather than a block number. This upgrade will improve Optimism's scalability, security, and flexibility.

The upgrade will improve Optimism's scalability, security, and flexibility, and is designed to further reduce transaction fees (the team estimates a reduction in gas fees by 47%), reduce system latency (users wait for deposit confirmations from up to 10 minutes to within 3 minutes), and improve node performance, among other things.
