Restaking Protocol EigenLayer Goes Live on Ethereum Mainnet

Restaking protocol EigenLayer announced its Stage-1 is live on the Ethereum mainnet, which is open to stakers. Users can now restake in EigenLayer by depositing their liquid staking tokens (LSTs) into the EigenLayer contracts, or by creating an EigenPod and configuring the Beacon chain withdrawal credentials to their EigenPod addresses.

EigenLayer's mainnet launch will have three stages. In Stage-2, node operators will be onboard and be responsible for performing validation tasks for AVSs (Actively Validated Services) built on the EigenLayer protocol. In Stage-3, AVS will launch on EigenLayer.

Currently, EigenLayer supports three LSTs, $stETH, $rETH, and $cbETH. At launch, EigenLayer has a limit of 3,200 tokens that can be deposited for each LST, and a deposit limit of 32 tokens per user transaction. These limits will be raised progressively to reach an uncapped state.
