Snapser Raises $2.6m in Seed Funding Round Led By A16z

Snapser is a games backend technology company that aims to become the go-to platform for game studios. The company was recently funded by a16z Games in a Series Seed investment. Snapser was founded by Ajinkya Apte, Jason Davidson, and Vineet Pandit, who have extensive experience in game backend development and have spent a combined 26 years at Zynga.

The current game development landscape requires game studios to provide connected multiplayer games with various backend services, such as leaderboards, identity systems, and cloud storage, but this can result in a costly and time-consuming process.

Snapser offers a platform that combines the ease and speed of off-the-shelf APIs with the flexibility and extensibility of a custom backend. Developers have the option to choose from a catalog of customizable microservices and can also bring their own code, data, servers, and cloud to the platform through a unique SDK.
