$USDT Transfer Function now Available on Telegram through @wallet bot

Users of Telegram, the popular messaging app, can now send each other tether ($USDT), the world's largest stablecoin by market cap, within chats through @wallet bot.

$USDT has been added to Telegram's @wallet bot. Telegram users can now buy, swap, and make P2P trades with $USDT. Users can also directly send $USDT to friends with no transaction fees.

The @wallet bot is developed by a group of independent developers.

Last April, Telegram's @wallet marketplace added bitcoin ($BTC) and toncoin ($TON), with the latter also available to send within chats. While the development of the Open Network (TON) blockchain project was abandoned in 2020 due to legal battles with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the TON Foundation has continued to advance the project.

Despite not being directly involved in TON, Telegram has maintained an interest in the network, exemplified by building its blockchain-based auction platform Fragment atop it late last year.
